Vitiligo is a commonly acquired skin condition that is fairly known. In every 200 people at least 1 person is affected by skin condition of Vitiligo. Vitiligo disease is not dangerous for human life, but it can be a problem as it mainly affects one appearance. Vitiligo can begin at any age, but in most of the cases, its onset is noted before the age of 40. Although precise cause of Vitiligo is unknown but is generally associated with a number of auto-immune conditions, also genetic factors, skin trauma and anxiety or stress are associated with Vitiligo cause. Most people with Vitiligo are in good health and have no symptoms other than areas of loss of skin pigmentation, due to destruction of melanocytes, or pigment cells, resulting white spots on the on the skin, which may grow into white patches eventually.
No one up till now can be sure about the severity or time of onset for Vitiligo. But the white patches of Vitiligo mostly appear on sun-exposed areas of the body, around body openings and body folds, which include hands, feet, arms, face, and lips, genitals, armpits etc. These white patches occur in different patterns. According to these patterns the dermatologist has classified, to find cure for Vitiligo or treatment for Vitiligo according to it severity.

Generalized Vitiligo:
If the de-pigmentation occurs symmetrically on both sides of the body it is called Generalized Vitiligo. It is the most common pattern.
