White PatchesThe irregular white patches on different parts of body is a characteristic of Vitiligo. These white patches occur due to the loss of melanin, the pigment which is responsible of skin color. If the immune system produces anti-bodies, which impaired the function of melanocytes to produce melanin, white spots occur on the body. Vitiligo is not the only disease which is indicated by white spots or white patches. There are many more diseases which share the same symptom with Vitiligo:
